Pulled from the Clippers thread...

What did the Lakers get for Lou Williams?---Yohe

Corey Brewer and the Rockets #1 pick, which ended up #1-28.

Brewer was in the deal to make the money math work - the Rockets needed to move a contract to take Williams, and the Lakers were fine with Brewer's short term contract that expires after this season

We traded the Rockets pick to Utha to move down two spots to 1-30 while also picking up the #2-42.

#1-30 = Josh Hart
#2-42 = Thomas Bryant

Williams is a free agent after this year, and we wouldn't resign him.

We ended up getting two interesting prospects.

Hart isn't super young since he went all four years to college. But he's been a pleasant addition who has some potential as a cheap hard working role player. He's on a cheap rookie contract, and then we have some control over him as an RFA after the rookie contract is up.

Bryant is an intriguing modern Big. There is a chance that he's going to pass Zubac by.

The original trade was a good one, and then picking up and extra pick while getting the player they wanted two spots lower (and keeping it in the 1st round) was a smarter move that I would have expected out of Magic & Rob so early in their time in office. Add in that it looks like we had are pretty typical decent job of scouting players down in this part of the draft.

I don't think the Lakers have ever lost a Sunday afternoon game at Staples. In the 2015-16 season, the Dubs were 55-5 when they faced the 12-51 Lakers for a Sunday afternoon game. So of course the Lakers won in a rout, 112-95. Saturday night in L.A. is undefeated.

Make that 7 of 9. It got a little hairy towards the end with some missed free throws, but that is a quality win. Kuzma scored 17 of the Lakers' 32 points in the 4th.

Feels great to beat Boston.

And Baylor got his statue. I hear that Kobe wants two statues now that he has two numbers on the wall. And then his Hollywood buddys give him a Oscar nomination. If he gets an Oscar, I'm going to fast forward threw that part of the TV show to not get sick. Don't they know his ego is big enough?---Steve Yohe

8 of 10.

Ingram!

Winning on road while getting destroyed on the 3-line.

Hard not to be a lil excited about this team.

This is fun.

I was annoyed that in the post-game show on the radio that they wasted a segment on "playoffs". How about we just keep our shit together enough to win 35 games. We're currently on page for 32. If we go 16-18 the rest of the way, we get to 35. That's a .470 clip the rest of the year over 34 games.

Despite the 8-2, we're only playing .421 ball over our last 19 games. That's what happened when you go 0-9 and then 8-2.

Let's just get 35 wins. That's big progress. There are a ton of tough games still on the schedule. Just root for progress, you idiot radio guys.

Pretty fun banter between Kyle Kuzma and Lonzo and LaMelo Ball on Twitter/Instagram.

Also, unsurprisingly Kuzma has slowed down after a very hot start. In January, he is shooting 42 FG% and 34.7 3P%. His season totals are still a solid 46 FG% and 37.8 3P%. Another interesting stat - he is shooting 52 FG% / 43.6 3P% in wins and 43 FG% / 34.4 3P% in losses. As Kuzma goes, the Lakers go?

By the way, Jayson Tatum is another rookie whose shooting has dropped in January. This month, Tatus is shooting 39 FG% and 33.3 3P%, versus 48 FG% and 44.2 3P% overall for the season.
